TCI High School Chefs

For this year’s Toronto Garlic Festival the Thistletown Collegiate Institute Culinary students are running a fresh Taco bar featuring a variety of meats, fresh veggies from their own 14000 sq. ft. organic garden, and garlic infused sauces. The students will also be selling their own line of amazing preserves including: Garlic Lover’s Salsa, Pickled Spicy Garlic Scapes, Red Currant, Garlic & Rosemary Jelly and other inspired creations.

For the 4th year in a row Chef Keith Hoare is returning to the Garlic festival with his team of culinary students from Thistletown Collegiate Institute from Rexdale. Chef Keith and his students participate in various food festivals to raise money to help offset the cost of international culinary travel. Chef Keith has won the Toronto Star Teacher of the Year award, The Etobicoke Guardian ‘Urban Hero’ award for education, and is a Chopped Canada Champion. The next big adventure for the TCI High School Chefs is a trip to Spain in 2019.
